August began cool and cloudy, occasional hot sunny days, and not much rain, the month ended with a scorching Bank Holiday. I had to get the hose out occasionally in order to chivy up my Sweetcorn ripening.

End of Month View of the Garden: End of June 2017
We had 16 consecutive days with no rain, and many of those days were joined by scorching weather and temperatures in the region of 30°c.

August delivered where previous months merely hinted…
A hot dry start to the month ended with a bit of a splash, and some thunder and some lightning….
In-fact 50% of the total rainfall for the month fell in one night towards the end of the month.
